Director of the Behavior Design Lab, Stanford University
Dr. BJ Fogg directs the Behavior Design Lab at Stanford. An experimental psychologist, Fogg has created breakthrough methods for changing human behavior. At his guest home on the Russian River, he teaches small groups of industry innovators how to apply his methods in his monthly "Boot Camp in Behavior Design." Over the past two years he has personally coached over 20,000 people in his breakthrough method called Tiny Habits.
He is the author of "Persuasive Technology: Using Computers to Change What We Think and Do," the first book to explain how technology can be designed to influence people. Fortune Magazine selected BJ as one of ten “New Gurus You Should Know.” Scroll down to read more or Register Now for Dr. Fogg's Masterclass in Behavior Design
We invite you to join Dr. BJ Fogg for a full day of learning (June 10th on workshop day) about human behavior change and then for his keynote on June 11th. You will learn the insights from Dr. Fogg’s work at Stanford as well as methods from his highly sought-after 2-day Boot Camps in this Masterclass that Dr. Fogg calls “Behavior Design.” After completing this Masterclass, your perspective of human behavior will alter, giving you unusual clarity in your work projects.
In Dr. Fogg’s Keynote, “Puzzle Solved: How to create long-term change from short-term motivation” he’ll be revealing breakthrough information from his research in behavior design. Recently, Dr. Fogg solved a big puzzle in behavior change–how to transform temporary motivation into lasting change. For many years, products and programs have tried to crack this code, with the vast majority failing. For example, giving someone cash to exercise for six weeks rarely transforms into the habit of exercise, or entering a weight-loss contest rarely leads to keeping the pounds off. However, in some cases, the short-term motivation (the money, a contest) will indeed turn into long-term change (a habit or weight maintenance). So what’s the difference between the failures and the successes? This is what Dr. Fogg has revealed. In his keynote he’ll share his solution to this puzzle. You’ll find that the answer is systematic — and easy to grasp. Dr. Fogg will map out how you can use this solution to create more effective products and services. Dr. Fogg’s Masterclass is practical, not theoretical. During this full day experience, Dr. Fogg will guide you in using his tools — it’s a system about human nature and behavior change that makes sense. You’ll see that it all fits together.
You’ll learn how three elements must converge to cause behavior: motivation, ability, and triggers. Dr. Fogg will teach you how to use his Behavior Model in ways not yet shared online. With this, you can pinpoint and repair problems in user experiences. You’ll know why motivation is the *last* element you manipulate, not the first. (What’s first? Triggers. Dr. Fogg will teach you why.) He’ll guide you in brainstorming target behaviors and prioritizing them in what he calls “behavior mapping.”
Behavior Design is new and many of Dr. Fogg’s methods have yet to be published. If you want to learn his approach, secure your seat by registering for his Masterclass–or you could always just enroll in his course at Stanford! Each class size will be limited to maximize the 1:1 experience with Dr. Fogg.
After experiencing Dr. Fogg’s Masterclass, you will become more confident and efficient in designing for behavior change. You will gain practical skills to create effective products & services and your new perspective on human behavior will allow you to learn more each day, just by observing normal life. In other words, Dr. Fogg will set you on the path to becoming an expert. One VC said that “Dr. Fogg has cracked the code for teaching behavior design.” Register now and crack that code with Dr. BJ Fogg before this opportunity is sold-out.
After registration, each attendee will recieve 2 hours of required reading and videos to do before arriving at GSummit. This is required and it allows Dr. Fogg to be more efficient with the day. See pre-requisites HERE.
